Argh! [April 03, 2008 @ 5:41pm]
[ mood | annoyed ]

I can't believe how expensive it has become for me to travel home from uni! I know I normally book about 3 months in advance, but I didn't find out the dates for my exams until a few weeks ago. I know I can get a train ticket for just over £10, but this time (bear in mind it is still a month in advance, and exactly the same ticket) it cost me about £45. Extortionate!

Argh! [February 27, 2008 @ 5:58pm]
[ mood | annoyed ]

I'm really annoyed at the moment- we have an ant infestation in the kitchen, and our new landlady isn't answering the phone. Just great! So we'll have to wait until tomorrow to get that sorted.

Also, our 'lovely' housemates are all slobs and have all the comprehension of 5 year-olds (although maybe not even that). They never wash up, and simply expect it to be done, and even walk past you when you are washing up and don't even attempt to offer to dry up. Grr. What am I, the washing up fairy? We have 2 toilets in the house, and each has a small bin in it (for the female paraphernalia at 'that time'). Is it really too much to ask to put a bag in the bin when you change it? Bear in mind that there is a roll of these bags right next to the bins. Apparently it is. When I asked the person responsible to put the rubbish out, disinfect the bin and put a bag in I was called rude names and looked at as if I was crazy. Grr.

In other news, there was an earthquake last night, and it was really scary- just like someone had taken the whole house in their hands and shaken it. Also, my bed is a cabin bed, so the effects were amplified. I'd never really considered just how scary earthquakes were before, and I guess on the scale of things, it wasn't even that big & only lasted a few seconds.

I'm glad I've got that off my chest!

Rugby- England Vs Italy [February 10, 2008 @ 4:18pm]
[ mood | amused ]

I have just been watching the 6 Nations Rugby in the Uni library (online, with my headphones attached so as not to disturb other people), and I have to say it was very funny. Not the fact that the second half was appauling from England's point of view, but the comentry that went along with it.

An example, taken from the BBC sport website:

75 mins: TRY Italy 19-23 England Deary, deary me...Cipriani attempts a cheeky chip, substitute Picone charges the ball down and touches down under the sticks. Whatever doesn't kill you can only make you stronger...

73 mins:
Flood puts a good hit on Mirco Bergamasco and hacks clear, but Haskell is turned over. Brian Moore is apoplectic on the telly - "THEY'VE KICKED IT AWAY AGAIN! FOR GOD'S SAKE!" I reckon he might bite someone's face off in a minute, he really is that angry about this England display.

Lol. I have to say well done to Italty- they tried their hardest bless them, but I'm glad England won this match after last weeks awful game. I still can't believe we lost to Wales, but England really aren't playing well at the moment, although Johnny Wilkinson again played a good game, and is as always on form, with 2 conversions and 3 penalties. Flood was also playing a good game, with his 2 tries. Well done!
